It is entirely possible that I am writing this blog to appease my own self-serving interest of keeping a travel journal but in case anyone out there actually reads of my escapades abroad, I want to be sure they get the full picture. Not just the ones I publish.
So, my name is Taylor Brown and I am about to embark on a journey to the other side of the world! Too dramatic? Maybe… Long story short, I’m going to Europe. Although there have been many others that have imbibed in such an excursion, this is different. Because this time, it’s me. As a recent college graduate (go Gaels!), I wanted to take a time out from the pandemonium we call job hunting and do a little something for myself. And Europe is that “thing”.
Over the course of two and a half months, I hope to travel through more than 15 countries by way of plane, train and…boat (sorry, no automobile). My budget is barely enough to sustain a person on cheese and crackers, but I’m hoping to make the most of it and take the trip of a lifetime! If I return home unscathed with minimal debt and only minor misdemeanors on my permanent record, I can consider this trip a success! Just kidding, mom! (Or am I..?).
Without further ado, I begin my epic wayfaring adventure. And if there are any of you “folks at home”, feel free to follow along.
